Born in the Midwest,  I had a unique childhood of many moves, giving me the opportunity to experience an array of locales and characters all over the nation. We always had three things; faith, family and animals... and I always had dreams. Now we're finally back to the Plains and make our home on a farm filled with critters!

Author Pics

Here are an assortment of author photos... take your pick and feel free to mix and match any of the bios stuff that's here. No sense in being exactly the same every time!

These larger three pics are at pretty good resolution, but if you want a little, low res, version, grab the one on the far left!

Thanks, and we appreciate the help! E. Kaiser Writes

E. Kaiser Writes credits her nearly nomadic childhood for the vast reach of her fictional worlds; she has lived (and gotten to known the locals) in the Rocky Mtns, the Smoky Mtns, the plains, the deep forest, the searing Texas summer and frozen Minnesota north.

She wears many hats: writer and editor of ad copy, web copy, office correspondence & fiction; a cowgirl, animal trainer, seamstress, jeweler, artist and... authoress!

Thaw: Winter's Child
A barren king and queen pray for a child, and when in their loneliness, they make one out of snow, their prayers are answered in a special, and unusual way.

Sometimes, when we get what we wish for, we don't know what to do with it.

Combining elements from the Snow Maiden, Schneekind, Snegurochka tales with those of the Snow Queen; Winter's Child introduces a new series: THAW.

Live on Amazon: here is the link;

Thaw: Winter Queen

A slightly pampered girl allows her avoidance behavior to isolate her from the world... and it's only when she takes the final step that she realizes the wall she's built in the name of safety is also the one that will hold her prisoner forever... unless she discovers how to destroy it.

The only one who can break a neurosis... is the one who has it.

Combining elements from the Snow Maiden, Schneekind, Snegurochka tales with those of the Snow Queen; Winter Queen continues a new series: THAW.

Thaw: Prince of Demargen

The whole world knows his guilt, and is absolutely correct about it, but how far can a man go to regain respect so swiftly lost?

Or is an honorable death the best a fallen star can hope for?

The only person who can help him... is the one he most deeply wronged.

Prince of Demargen is third in a new series: THAW.

Excerpt From Winter's Child
Then her hands danced outward, playing faster than an orchestra leader’s baton. A row of swans took position along the rail, snowy bodies, glistening wings. Her eyes glowed as she sent them off, and they fell into perfect formation, dipping and rising at her command.
This was fun.
No one could be lonesome while doing this.
She brought the swans back, and they lined up perfectly on the rail, their snowy faces expressionless, their glassy beaks soundless. […]
She flicked her fingers again and a sleigh appeared, formed of knitted snowflakes. She traced a finger to each swan and snowy filaments formed a harness on each fowl. The swans rearranged themselves to accommodate this new strategy, and then she lifted them off and into the air again.
They rose upward with the beat of icy wings, and the snowflake sleigh swooped up close on their tails. It sailed through the sky like a cloud, following exactly where the swans dipped and dived to.
~ Winter’s Child

Excerpt From Winter Queen

“Destroy it.” The angel pointed a commanding finger at the beautiful edifice. “You want to melt your ice… then undo what you have done.”

“But..!” the Queen protested. “But, it’s… I don’t want to melt that.”

“That is the question,” the Winter Angel stated flatly. “Do you really want to know how to melt the ice, or are you only lying to yourself? Hiding behind the excuses… ‘I can’t!’ you wail, ‘I don’t know how!’ But the truth is… you won’t, because you don’t want to.”

“No!” Thunder stormed across Ilise’s brow. “I do want to know how! I would melt things if I knew how to!”

The angel cocked her head. “Then, start with this. Take down the fortress you have built yourself.”

Ilise’s heart beat fast, her thoughts whirling.

“And don’t leave until you’ve figured it out.” The ultimatum was deadpan, but as binding as icy manacles. “If you ever want to learn, you learn it now.”

                                                 ~Winter Queen

Excerpt From Prince of Demargen
“And what is this definition you choose, Hess?” Her voice was half angry, half curious.
“Power.” The word dropped onto the stones like a glass jar, seeming to explode in the silence immediately following. “Wealth. Rank. Prestige. They are all ways to gain it, but in the end, it is power that the world respects. That makes the world tremble.”
She watched his eyes, the way his breathing had quickened. She felt the heat of a frustrated desire twisting in his heart, but could not understand from whence it had come.
Where had her son gone? The boy who was so gentle with the little princesses, the lanky youngster who had tried not to show how outpaced he was by his older brothers? The shining young prince that had made them all so proud; how polished, how sincere he had grown?
From whence was this wounded animal that gnawed on the bars of his soul?
                                ......
“It’s not like you, Hess.”  Her voice had a catch in it, a bewildered hurt that found no answers. “This isn’t like you at all.”
He lifted his head to her, and the look in her eyes unexpectedly cut through him like daggers.
  “It’s not like you.”
 And then she was gone.
And the next instant he was doubled over, both arms gripping his stomach to his spine as if he was in danger of splitting apart. He stumbled over to the bed and sank onto it, his lungs demanding more air than the room could provide.
                                    ~ Prince of Demargen
